Clustered and Load balanced Servers from IFDNRG

Extreme Clustered Http Hosting

To handle events, campaigns or launches where traffic is expected to be large, IFDNRG handle high load via a cluster of load balanced HTTP servers. Using similar technology to that employed by 'YouTube', this solution works with firewalls, is scalable and is fault tolerant of any issues with a given server.

High Volume web http hosting

Instead of utilising regular web servers such as Apache, our cluster platform is built on Lighttpd, a server designed and optimized for high performance environments.

Clustered Hosting

To handle large and sustained surges of traffic IFDNRG maintains a cluster of servers. This both spreads the load across multiple machines and allows for resilience in the event of hardware failure.

Scalable Hosting

We have a pool of servers which are live 24/7 for high load/high volume campaigns. Additional servers can be added to the cluster as required for scalability.

High Performance Ram Disks

Under extreme high load, to absolutely minise the risk of bottlenecks we can host content on RamDisks. These are virtual partitions which exist solely in high speed DDR2 RAM. This completely cuts out Disk IO as a limiting factor and is an extremely fast method of serving large amounts of static content. Ram disks are available in 1GB slices on our 64bit freeBSD high performance platform.

Memcached

Written by the developers of Live journal, memcached is a high-performance, distributed memory object caching system, generic in nature, but intended for use in speeding up dynamic web applications by alleviating database load. Contact us if you require high volume hosting.

Synchronisation and statistics

Files are automatically synchronised across the cluster and usage statistics are available aggregated or on a server by server basis. In addition to regular web traffic style statistics we also offer MRTG bandwidth graphing on each server.

Awstats is also available on each server to provide regular and accurate statistics of file hits and bandwidth summaries. Usage statistics are also fully integrated into the IFDNRG client portal, offering all traffic data in addition to disk usage and ftp upload facilities.
